ONE YEAR OUT LITTLE PROGRESS
BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED... I'VE ONLY LOST 71LBS SINCE SURGERY... ITS VERY DEPRESSING AT TIMES.. I KNOW OTHERS WHO HAVE LOST MUCH MORE WEIGHT.. I WAS HOPING TO BE AT 130LBS BY THIS TIME.. I'M AT 172LBS... I TRY TO STAY POSITIVE.. BUT IT'S HARD... ESPECIALLY WHEN I SEE OTHERS LOOSING SO FAST.... I'M THANKFUL FOR THE WEIGHT I'VE LOST... I JUST WI**** COULD BE MORE... I FEEL LIKE A FAILURE AT TIMES... PLUS I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH EATING.. WHICH MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT.. I CAN EAT ANYTHING I WANT.. I HAVE NO RESTRICTIONS LIKE SOME PEOPLE.. SUGAR, FAT, YOU NAME IT.... I CAN EAT IT.. ALTHOUGH I DON'T IDULGE BECAUSE I KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES.. IT WORRIES ME THAT I CAN EAT THINGS THAT OTHERS CAN'T.
I KNOW IT WILL BE EASY FOR OTHERS TO JUDGE AND SAY.. JUST DON'T EAT BAD THINGS.. ITS SOUNDS GOOD.. BUT IF IT WERE THAT EASY.. I WOULD NEVER HAVE NEEDED SURGERY.. SO IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN IN MY SHOES... DON'T JUDGE ME.. OR SEND ME HOLIER THAN THOU MESSAGES.. I'M NOT INTERESTED... I WAS SOLUTIONS.... NOT CRITICISMS...
Since I don't know you, or what you are doing exactly, I will offer up some "food" for thought.
Have you tracked your eating and exercising to see:
if you are eating enough, eating too many carbs, getting enough water, getting enough exercise, eating often enough, etc....
Our bodies have a fantastic way of trying to save us. Good for survival, not so good for fashion.
I know you must be very frustrated and let down by the lack of results that you were expecting.
Best to you!
I am right there with you! It can be so many things. People who have/had diabetes tend to lose more slowly and less weight than others. Also, some birth control pills can slow the weight loss process down as well. I also know that I do not make the best eating or exercise choices, but I try not to take it to the extreme. I have "only" lost 70 lbs, and have been at the same weight since July of 2008. I know that my body is still losing some inches every now and then b/c my face looks different, I can wear clothes that were too tight before, etc. but that still doesn't make it any less disappointing. I can only say good for you being in the 170s. I am still trying to get under the 200s. Best of luck to you.

I have a friend who had a similar thing happen - she lost 80 lbs with ease, and then it just stopped. She wwas really frustrated and after a while of trying to do it all on her own, she finaly called the doc and set an appointment with our nutritonist. The NUT had her start up food diary ( something she wasn't doing during her loss) for 2 weeks before her appointment. That way, when they met, the NUT was able to see where my friend could tweak her diet to help get her on the losing end again. My friend thouht that she was doing everything right, etc etc, but looking at the food journal showed her that there were portions and certain foods that she could definitely change. She was eating a lot more refined carbs than she shoudl have, so once she cut those out, she started losing again.
Good luck to you!!!
